It seems only fitting that on the 14-month anniversary of Scott’s death I received the first box of the Brigade backpacks. To see this idea finally becoming a reality has been so rewarding. We are going to be packing the bags in a few short weeks with the help of South Walton High School students and volunteers.
Our first delivery will be Apr 1, 2023 to Dr. Mose Hayes’ office at Ascension Sacred Heart. I can’t wait to get the feedback from the nurses and patients to see if we are heading in the right direction with the care items and what if any changes we need to make to the next round in the fall. But that’s getting our cart before our proverbial horse. For now we are just happy to see the fruits of our labors become real as these Amazon boxes arrive every day with things to put into the bags!
